Default best idea ever

you know what would be a great? if you could have a certain pet for a long time and create some kind of bond with it, you know how real pets sometimes gain their master's personalities? so the pet would slowly combine and morph into your body to create a SUPER RANGER thats half human and half BEAST, permanently changing your character's looks. with the "bear pet morph" your ranger would absorb the bear and then you'd be all furry and have claws and you'd get some kind of stat boost. and then you could tame a new pet and eventually have it morph into you aswell, so if you morphed with enough pets you could evolve into.. a big crazy animal or something. yeah, that would be neat.

sorry to burst your bubble, but people are all the same

no one's special, no one's unique, despite what your mother told you

don't bitch about uniqueness, don't bitch about wanting to be different from everyone else

hey my sword is curved at a different angle than yours hey i'm unique hey look at me hey i want attention HEY

I'm all for making the pets smarter, but I dont care about more types really. I'd still take the dog over the lizard.

Hahaha you know whats really pathetic, Useing the same thing that I said against you, good to know you liked it
First off i never 'bitched' about uniqueness. Im aloud to have my say just like everyone else on this forem. If you dont like it, DONT POST. Seriously the idiots I have to deal with. Pssh.
Clearly you need to Understand what people are saying before you talk.
This is a forem for Improvements to Guild Wars. If everyone wanted to keep it the same like you, then this game would not reach its full potental nor would people play it for long except for maybe sadists like you.
Go to the many other topics, to do with the lack of variety in guildwars, and take out your anger at the world there. DONT post here again Kakumei.

Now on a different note I think Otsegoflesh has a good idea. But i dont think it would work. If you had 'stat' boosts with everything would take the games balence off. I think the pet simply changing its looks according to its master is good enough

I'd like to see a "pet unguent" skill. The same as troll unguent except it's for pets and allied pets.

If the AI isn't improved, I'd like to see some means of self-healing in the beastmastery line. Like Symbiotic bond affecting (non-regen)healing as well(50ish health for you and your pet if you use Comfort Animal for example).
Or a Wilderness Survival bow. Or a beastmastery weapon. Any of those would solve my only issue with using a pet.

now thats some funny s**t,

i would love the emote /petstop, when you target an enemy and your pet runs in and gets killed like a person under godzilla's foot, it gets really annoying. As for the new pets, c'mon we all know what is going to happen, they will release a dragon, and then everyone will have the dragon, 1 month later, *people in forums* c'mon Anet put some more pets in *repeat for about 1 year*

Your pet shouldn't die fast at all unless you're using it wrong. As much armor as a Warrior(except vs physical), and a 120-second 5-energy Shielding Hands shout...
Unless of course you just have the pet there for kicks and giggles and don't really support it.

definitely more control, at least on par with the henchmen.

I mean i can command the henchmen to attack without attacking first (or even aggroing for that matter) and sit back and watch them kill stuff. Pets are still pretty dumb when it comes to this.

Just a way to send it to attack and a way to call it back. thats the very least we could have ;-;

eh yeh that might be good but mabie if you grow a bond which became a strong freindship which mabie ur pet have more confidence in you and do higher dmg and stuff like that

How about this... if you double-click on the pet's name in the allies window the icon turns into a pointing hand or somesuch. You then click on a target and your pet attacks the one you specified. You double-click on your pet's name and then click on yourself and your pet will yield and come to your side. This is all in addition to the AI, which your commands supercede.

Don't even need to do an overhaul of the GUI really. Just a tweak.

Select target(usually with 'c'), hold ctrl+shift, hit space. If you're close enough the henchmen will, after a moment, run up and start attacking. Especially Stefan and Devona and Thom.
